Android or iPhone, personal experience and views

FYI Samsung auto bot removed this post from its forum on reddit within a second.
Android subreddit removed it too within minutes.
None gave any reason. They have bots to identify posts which are not in their best interest and remove them.

so I am posting it on my personal space.Brand new samsung 22+ and its issues so far.purchase date: august 2022.
phone: samsung galaxy s22+ 128GB 8GB Ram.

I strongly believe that none should follow these celeb reviewers or influencers and give not just 0 but negative credit and importance to their reviews. All of them get their free product from the company to review and many a times they get to keep it. If I am huge company like samsung then I can make a batch of my products with the best of the components possible and give them only to these influencers like MKBHD or Dave2D or geekyranjit etc., and they will have the best experience since the phone is made of best components. Do not believe any review of any product which hands out free samples to anyone. Apple on the other hand (I am not an apple user) hands no free samples to anyone and hence you can believe those reviews to be true. These companies like samsung also use different components for different regions while keeping the same name for the product. They will have inferior parts in them in countries like india or asia in general and have right components in countries like USA and many of europe. Apple on the other hand will have same chip, same transistor, same capacitor, same sensor, same vendor of the part for the whole world. They will not have an inferior chip like exynos in asia but qualcom latest chip for USA. If regionalism (like racism) is a thing then these companies do it best. This samsung s22+ costs more than an iphone and the stability of these phones is very questionable. So I want to list out all the problems I faced so far, so that other can make a better decision. If iPhone had USB Type C this year, I would have waited for it but I guess I have to struggle with this for a year or more.

Issues

  1. Overheating : The phone overheates with regular gaming of regular games within a minute or two

  2. UI Bugs: UI is buggy due to samsung's customizations to it, Vendors should stop customizaing the android OS instead keep it near stock android unless they have dozens of developers working on each model of their phone. Samsung's sidepanel for instance creates a lot of full screen issues when you are using youtube or other apps in minimized mode.

  3. Shitty Fingerprint sensor: Works only 8/10 times with a screenguard even when high sensitivity is enabled.

  4. Shitty battery: Numbers ain't a thing. iphones with smaller battery last longer than androids 5000mAh battery, why? Quality. A fatso like jack black or seth rogan who are bigger in size than bruce lee, will always get beatern by a thin bruce lee. Android vendors mantra seems to be, if you can't be efficient, then just get bigger.

  5. Bloatware: Non removable spyware or bloatware in all samsungs phones. They want to have their own app store, their own theme store, their own shopping app, their own calculator, their own clock, their own this their own that, basically reinvent their own wheel and shove it down their user's throat. Many cannot be uninstalled. Motorola is doing a great job by keeping it clean by offering a near stock android OS but they are not yet waterproofing their phones.

  6. Alienation by inconsistency: Their (android phone) designs are inconsistent. The same model next year looks so radically different that you feel that you are getting a whole different series and not a continuation. Humans like continuation, continuous progress, not radical shift or change. This is why when iphone users buy a new phone after a year or after 5 years, to them it feels like they are buying a newer iteration of the one that they have and they don't feel alienated.

  7. Quantity over Quality: All android phone companies seem to have given up on quality and they are trying to beat the market, especially iPhone; by quantity (number of models per year) and inclusion of new tech (aka cutting edge) than having a mature quality product. The division of your concentration, attention and passion is directly proportional to the number of models you release per year, Samsung developers with 30 models a year have to work on 30+ models, all with different sensors, different cameras, different screens, different battery, different x/y/z in them. Apple on the other hand has to work just on 3 or 4 phones where all of them share at least 80% of the components. Apple seems like a sharp shooter, shooting calculated, well timed limited bud deadly bullets. Android vendors are looking like an a rapid firing minigun which blindly keeps shooting till they hit the target. The fact that apple's iPhones don't change much every year but still attract customers, shows that people aren't looking for a new thing every year, but same improved iteration of whatever that they already have, which kind of gives them a sense of maintaining or being in a long term relation with something which keeps improving and getting better. Every new android phone from the same brand and same model, seems like a divorce of the old one, marriage with a new one. If you buy xiomi this year, samsung next year, redmi the year after, then you are basically spending most of your life learning their company's version of android, than using your phone.

  8. Internet performance: Same SIM card, same network provider, the internet works faster on iphones than android. It takes sometime 5+ seconds for my youtube app to go from blank black screen to show video icons, while on 2+ year old iphone, it loads instantly. Many of my friends confirm that their mobile network performance is more consistent and reliable than android phones.

  9. 3rd party compatibility: Every time I want to use my bluetooth headset with my android, I have to go to bluetooth icon>bluetooth settings>list of bluetooth devices>select the device I want to connect and wait. If I want the bluetooth devices to auto pair when I turn them on, then I have to buy the same bluetooth wireless device from the same brand as the phone. My oneplus earbuds auto connects with my old oneplus phone. Samsung galaxy buds will auto connect with samsund android phones but samsund ear buds won't auto connect consistently with phones from other vendors. I do not and will not have this problem with an iphone. The choices are limited but they are all tested and certified to work with an iphone or any apple product.
Often some say that apple is for nobrainers and linux/android or for smart people. Why would I want a device which requires more brain power to make it usable or to use it? If I want to gift a phone for my parents or grand parents who do not even know english properly, let alone them being able to navigate through the settings to choose the bluetooth device every time they want to receive a call, I want a device which requires least brain power to use it, Phone is not my life, a device is not my life, it should save time for me, not ask time from me, it should not ask me to invest time in it, because I have already invested sorry spent money for it.

It seems like you keep buying android if the phone itself is an adventure for you (every brand has its own android, own style, own apps, own x/y/z) and you will buy an apple if you life is an adventure for you. You will buy an apple where it is a tool for you, you don't ask more or want more from it but expect it to be stable, reliable. You get an android where you want more, latest and the greatest; the thing about the latest, greatest or the cutting edge is, they are not time tested, they are not mature. I love Linux OS. Android has the same problem as linux. Too many versions, variations, too open and that is the great thing about it. It is also the worst thing about it as it acts as a great entry barrier for those who want to come into its eco system. If I post a question about an apple product, Then I can be sure that every apple user of that product will understand my question and may be able to answer it. If I post a question about my Linux OS, They need to know my hardware config, my OS family, my OS version, my Desktop flavor, my kernel version. Same thing with my android phone. A question about my samsung galaxy s22 ultra will most probably can be answered by someone using the galaxy s22 ultra user and not samsung galaxy s22 or galaxy s22+ user or a motorola or xiomi or redmi or oneplus user. Apple products are looking like an option for those who Buy well but not necessarily buy often; long term reliable, durable relationship(5 year full software support). Android products seems to be for those who buy often but not necessarily buy well; exciting but short term relationship(many offer 1 or 2 year support, few offer 3 year support, samsung offers 3 full + 1 year security update support). If an apple iphone costs 100$ which is supported for 5 years, then I would have spent 100$ in 5 years. An android phone costing 90$ with 2 year software support, then I would be spending 250$ in 5 years.

I would If I could 20: kill the demand, not the supply

Curb anti social activities like begging, illegal businesses, child abduction, women and men forced into begging by penalizing the customers or clients. The solution is based on 2 existing models.

1. Bribing is a crime as much as taking it

2. Seeking drugs is penalized

Advantages:

  • Reduces child abduction
  • Reduces begging
  • Reduces illegal business
  • Multiplies income towards govt
  • Multiplies footprint of legal businesses
Solutions:
Buying from a minor: Penalizing those who knowingly buy from minors (on road, street, shop, organized or disorganized outlet), then the employment of minors will be reduced to a minimum. This disincentives the abductors of children who are often used for such activities. This will also increase the footprint of children at school.
Doing Business with illegal businesses: Penalize those who do business with street vendors who have occupied the street illegally. Buying from the road side businesses like eateries, street food outlets, vegetable fruit vendors might seem like a good act towards those who are selling it, but this is also encouraging criminal behavior and encourages breaking the law, disregard for life, law and order.
  1. A regular street shop setup takes up the entire footpath,
  2. its customers take up 20% of the road
  3. customers vehicles take up another 20% of the road
  4. walkers on the road will take up another 20% of the road since footpath is occupied illegally
  5. Chances of higher congestion, heavy traffic increases by 60% (since 60% of road is unusable)
  6. Chances of road accidents increase by 60% (since 60% of road is unusable)
  7. Discourages legal tax paying businesses who are paying rent, salary to employees to switch to non tax paying, non renting street vendors.
  8. Most vendors do littering which is against the law
  9. Most street vendors sell food which becomes unhygienic due to open cooking, road side dirt and pollution
  10. Creates street dog problem who keep hunting for bones, meat or other eatables on the footpath or road
We can simply start giving tickets to illegally parked vehicles on the road since they are causing congestion without asking the street vendors to stop their business. When people start getting penalized for just their vehicles being parked illegally in front of street vendors then demand for street vending will go down drastically.

I would If I could 19: Limiting unlimited acquisition of limited resources

Solution: Limit the number of real estate or house or apartments or residence a person can own. Anything other than 1 should be discouraged with penalty or exponential recurring increasing tax.

Similar model should be worked towards all resources which are limited. Real estate or land is always limited and cannot be increased without ecological destruction. Very few are owning multiple or bigger quantity of residential area or properties, renting them or flipping them and making this as a business. Business is good but few owning limited resources like water (recyclable) or air and renting it to others is outrageous then one should know that real estate is even limited than air or water.

Advantages:

  1. Many will be now able to own a house than rent
  2. More buy and sell of properties when people move to different places for work, opportunities. If I am moving from city A to city B for better opportunities then it is in my self interest that I sell my house in city A and buy one at city B.
  3. Real estate prices will be more reachable and very less pressure on government for the same
  4. When more people buy instead of renting a house, they spend more on the house, they would add furniture, electronics, decorative items, paint, remodeling etc., since they own it. If someone owns a house in a area then they are most likely concerned about the well being of the area and thus participate in elections. If I am only renting, then I can always keep shifting whenever I want.
  5. Those who want to own more houses will now have to buy it in the name of their family members, The number of parents or a partner (husband or wife) is a fixed number but number of children is the only variable number in a family, this will encourage richer people to have more children which will eventually lead to wealth redistribution. When richer people start to have more children than poor the economic disparity between citizens of a society will keep going down for every new generation.

I would If I could 18: Common food program

 Solution

In all government sectors or public sectors the food/meals offered should be offered as per the religious diet guidelines or prescriptions of all religions or meals/food should adhere to something which is common or acceptable to all.

Currently Jain food prescription is the most common and acceptable across all religious diet prescriptions.

Problem:

  1. Muslims want halal food
  2. Jews want kosher food
  3. Sikhs want non halal food
  4. Jains want vegetarian food except
    1. honey
    2. root vegetables (potato, onion, garlic etc.,)
    3. mushrooms
Even hotels or restaurants should also offer meals adhering to each religion or have at least 3 common (something acceptable to all religions, which is jain diet) meals as part of their menu. This should apply to all sectors like parliament, airplanes, trains to ensure that participation of all is welcomed and encouraged. Jain being the national and global minority and their diet being compliant with all others, only this should be offered where if they cannot afford to offer a full menu of meals for all religions.

I would If I could 17: Weapons of mass manipulation

 Solution:

  1. All kinds of entertainment or infotainment (movies, music, games, streaming services etc.,) should be either paid for or paid to the consumer.
  2. All data of all online services should only reside in india and deplatforming, disabling, crippling, limiting or banning of any indian's profile for a service requires the service provider to obtain a court order from the indian judiciary since indians are subject to indian law and constitution and no company or corporate's internal law or policy should function above the india or indian's constituion but should only work under it. (This shall also ensure an increase in employment in a very new segment in judiciary)
So no video game or social media or streaming service should be or will be free but it will be charged per minute or the service provider itself will pay to the user. This is of course taxed to fund the welfare schemes that we have in India. Ex:- Instagram or facebook or youtube will either pay their users to use their services per minute (1 paise per minute or less or more) and this is taxed. This will ensure those who cannot afford it won't use it much or not use it at all and if they can't afford it then it means they should be working to earn their living. This will also limit the amount of time today's citizens spend online. This will also ensure the quality of content and quality of time spent is ensured from service providers to service consumers.

Problem:
Almost all
  1. social media companies
  2. Movie studios
  3. Music studios
  4. Streaming services
  5. Gaming services
  6. Online news portals
  7. Online entertainment
  8. Online adult content providers
  9. Cloud or hosting companies of online services
who have more data of citizens than the citizen's own country are from one country and they are subject to the constitution of that country. Almost all such companies have departments which have the authority to monitor, disable, ban, deplatform or limit a user's experience or profile based on the employee's country's definition of freedom of speech or worse the company's definition of freedom of speech.

If it is company's guidelines they are following then they are only or mainly influenced by the shareholders meaning, someone who wants to influence a certain viewpoint and suppress those which are against their own viewpoints have to just either infiltrate such departments of such companies with their own people or if they can afford to, then just be a big enough shareholder in that company.

If it is the country's (the country where the company is registered from or based in ) guidelines that they are following, then they are enforcing their definition of what is right and wrong on the whole world based on their country's constitution. The government can easily enforce the companies to push their narrative, cripple or suppress the narratives which are not in favor of them by forcing the companies to promote or demote certain ideas or those who are sharing such ideas. They can also do this by infiltrating such companies with their own people in certain departments where they can monitor, disable, limit, ban, cripple user experiences or their ideas or deplatform them or even make internal policies which will act in their favor most of the time. Government of the country where these companies are based, the govt can insert their people into departments where they have access to databases of all the user's data and they can use it to extract or reflect upon that data without requiring a legal approval, even better they can place hardware or OS based backdoors which can and will be accessed by the agencies of their government.

So in short if the this govt with a monopoly of power to manipulate world's viewpoint, the thoughts of people of the whole world can be used to turn people of a certain country or religion or ideology to turn against their government by demoting or promoting people who can facilitate such their goal. Currently all these weapons are deployed and functioning around the world. What better weapon can there be than the power to turn people of their own country
  1. turn against their own country
  2. turn against their own or other's race/ethnicity/religion/country.
  3. Make the people unproductive of a certain religion/country/race by keeping them hooked to cheap entertainment (games, movies, music, streaming services, social media etc.,) or keep gaslighting them.
  4. Make selective people or people of their own country more productive and efficient by giving them boring results when they are in search for entertainment or games and give them most relevant results or most accurate answers when their people are searching online for answers may be related to STEM.

Most services online are now hosted on cloud, meaning if they can deplatform you if the government of that company asks or forces them to do so. This can be seen with what happened to ex president donald trump and his social media account and to the parler.com. It was only China which acted on it way before anyone and got their own services for their people.

I would If I could 16: Athithi devo bhav

When one wants to visit a country or a different place, they always have this fear of the unknown, what about the law and order, will I get lost, what If I need some protection, What If I get threatened?, Do I have to bribe the authorities to get police help If I need it? etc., are the worries. We need to have a system where tourists (athithi == guests) feel more secure and feel at ease.

process:

  • An app each police person and a foreigner on tourist visa will have it in their phone.
  • A foreign tourist can see the GPS location of the nearest 5 police personal.
  • A police in his app can see the location of nearest 10 tourists within a certain radius.
  • A tourist can also see the location with most tourist checkout/checkin (as a heatmap) who are users of this app
  • At any point in time a tourist if in trouble, can click the sos button and the nearest police personal will be alerted.
  • All communication between the police and tourist will be recorded
Advantages:
  1. Increase tourism
  2. Increase safety of tourists and tourism
  3. More work for police personal means more hiring
  4. Good name for Bharat

I would If I could 15: Hemp economy revival

Hemp was and is still a great alternate source for making eco friendly, cost effective leather, clothes, ropes and others.

  1.  New eco friendly economy
  2. More villagers will have work
 Disadvantages:

  1. It might start a marijuana smoking rampart amongst jobless youth
In the west marijuana is already legalized and controlled too. It is better to allow and control it than ban and lose control.

Corrective or vengeful reciprocation

Over years, I have become convinced about "corrective reciprocation" being the safest moral principle that an individual or a gro...
