Android or iPhone, personal experience and views

FYI Samsung auto bot removed this post from its forum on reddit within a second.
Android subreddit removed it too within minutes.
None gave any reason. They have bots to identify posts which are not in their best interest and remove them.

so I am posting it on my personal space.Brand new samsung 22+ and its issues so far.purchase date: august 2022.
phone: samsung galaxy s22+ 128GB 8GB Ram.

I strongly believe that none should follow these celeb reviewers or influencers and give not just 0 but negative credit and importance to their reviews. All of them get their free product from the company to review and many a times they get to keep it. If I am huge company like samsung then I can make a batch of my products with the best of the components possible and give them only to these influencers like MKBHD or Dave2D or geekyranjit etc., and they will have the best experience since the phone is made of best components. Do not believe any review of any product which hands out free samples to anyone. Apple on the other hand (I am not an apple user) hands no free samples to anyone and hence you can believe those reviews to be true. These companies like samsung also use different components for different regions while keeping the same name for the product. They will have inferior parts in them in countries like india or asia in general and have right components in countries like USA and many of europe. Apple on the other hand will have same chip, same transistor, same capacitor, same sensor, same vendor of the part for the whole world. They will not have an inferior chip like exynos in asia but qualcom latest chip for USA. If regionalism (like racism) is a thing then these companies do it best. This samsung s22+ costs more than an iphone and the stability of these phones is very questionable. So I want to list out all the problems I faced so far, so that other can make a better decision. If iPhone had USB Type C this year, I would have waited for it but I guess I have to struggle with this for a year or more.

Issues

  1. Overheating : The phone overheates with regular gaming of regular games within a minute or two

  2. UI Bugs: UI is buggy due to samsung's customizations to it, Vendors should stop customizaing the android OS instead keep it near stock android unless they have dozens of developers working on each model of their phone. Samsung's sidepanel for instance creates a lot of full screen issues when you are using youtube or other apps in minimized mode.

  3. Shitty Fingerprint sensor: Works only 8/10 times with a screenguard even when high sensitivity is enabled.

  4. Shitty battery: Numbers ain't a thing. iphones with smaller battery last longer than androids 5000mAh battery, why? Quality. A fatso like jack black or seth rogan who are bigger in size than bruce lee, will always get beatern by a thin bruce lee. Android vendors mantra seems to be, if you can't be efficient, then just get bigger.

  5. Bloatware: Non removable spyware or bloatware in all samsungs phones. They want to have their own app store, their own theme store, their own shopping app, their own calculator, their own clock, their own this their own that, basically reinvent their own wheel and shove it down their user's throat. Many cannot be uninstalled. Motorola is doing a great job by keeping it clean by offering a near stock android OS but they are not yet waterproofing their phones.

  6. Alienation by inconsistency: Their (android phone) designs are inconsistent. The same model next year looks so radically different that you feel that you are getting a whole different series and not a continuation. Humans like continuation, continuous progress, not radical shift or change. This is why when iphone users buy a new phone after a year or after 5 years, to them it feels like they are buying a newer iteration of the one that they have and they don't feel alienated.

  7. Quantity over Quality: All android phone companies seem to have given up on quality and they are trying to beat the market, especially iPhone; by quantity (number of models per year) and inclusion of new tech (aka cutting edge) than having a mature quality product. The division of your concentration, attention and passion is directly proportional to the number of models you release per year, Samsung developers with 30 models a year have to work on 30+ models, all with different sensors, different cameras, different screens, different battery, different x/y/z in them. Apple on the other hand has to work just on 3 or 4 phones where all of them share at least 80% of the components. Apple seems like a sharp shooter, shooting calculated, well timed limited bud deadly bullets. Android vendors are looking like an a rapid firing minigun which blindly keeps shooting till they hit the target. The fact that apple's iPhones don't change much every year but still attract customers, shows that people aren't looking for a new thing every year, but same improved iteration of whatever that they already have, which kind of gives them a sense of maintaining or being in a long term relation with something which keeps improving and getting better. Every new android phone from the same brand and same model, seems like a divorce of the old one, marriage with a new one. If you buy xiomi this year, samsung next year, redmi the year after, then you are basically spending most of your life learning their company's version of android, than using your phone.

  8. Internet performance: Same SIM card, same network provider, the internet works faster on iphones than android. It takes sometime 5+ seconds for my youtube app to go from blank black screen to show video icons, while on 2+ year old iphone, it loads instantly. Many of my friends confirm that their mobile network performance is more consistent and reliable than android phones.

  9. 3rd party compatibility: Every time I want to use my bluetooth headset with my android, I have to go to bluetooth icon>bluetooth settings>list of bluetooth devices>select the device I want to connect and wait. If I want the bluetooth devices to auto pair when I turn them on, then I have to buy the same bluetooth wireless device from the same brand as the phone. My oneplus earbuds auto connects with my old oneplus phone. Samsung galaxy buds will auto connect with samsund android phones but samsund ear buds won't auto connect consistently with phones from other vendors. I do not and will not have this problem with an iphone. The choices are limited but they are all tested and certified to work with an iphone or any apple product.
Often some say that apple is for nobrainers and linux/android or for smart people. Why would I want a device which requires more brain power to make it usable or to use it? If I want to gift a phone for my parents or grand parents who do not even know english properly, let alone them being able to navigate through the settings to choose the bluetooth device every time they want to receive a call, I want a device which requires least brain power to use it, Phone is not my life, a device is not my life, it should save time for me, not ask time from me, it should not ask me to invest time in it, because I have already invested sorry spent money for it.

It seems like you keep buying android if the phone itself is an adventure for you (every brand has its own android, own style, own apps, own x/y/z) and you will buy an apple if you life is an adventure for you. You will buy an apple where it is a tool for you, you don't ask more or want more from it but expect it to be stable, reliable. You get an android where you want more, latest and the greatest; the thing about the latest, greatest or the cutting edge is, they are not time tested, they are not mature. I love Linux OS. Android has the same problem as linux. Too many versions, variations, too open and that is the great thing about it. It is also the worst thing about it as it acts as a great entry barrier for those who want to come into its eco system. If I post a question about an apple product, Then I can be sure that every apple user of that product will understand my question and may be able to answer it. If I post a question about my Linux OS, They need to know my hardware config, my OS family, my OS version, my Desktop flavor, my kernel version. Same thing with my android phone. A question about my samsung galaxy s22 ultra will most probably can be answered by someone using the galaxy s22 ultra user and not samsung galaxy s22 or galaxy s22+ user or a motorola or xiomi or redmi or oneplus user. Apple products are looking like an option for those who Buy well but not necessarily buy often; long term reliable, durable relationship(5 year full software support). Android products seems to be for those who buy often but not necessarily buy well; exciting but short term relationship(many offer 1 or 2 year support, few offer 3 year support, samsung offers 3 full + 1 year security update support). If an apple iphone costs 100$ which is supported for 5 years, then I would have spent 100$ in 5 years. An android phone costing 90$ with 2 year software support, then I would be spending 250$ in 5 years.

stackexchange: Are shudras and women not allowed to chant Aum i.e Pranava?

since stackexchange is becoming like reddit and wikipedia where unknown , behind the mask moderators run these sites like dictatorship, I have decided to add answers here. Chanting and reading are different. Vedic Chanting has two parts - Tone and Recitation (Patha). It further has four different tones - Udatta, Anudaatta, Svarita and Deergha Svarita. Pathas are the styles of hymnal recitation. So unless your are are well skilled in these and your pronouncination, enunciation is accurate, you are not supposed to chant. Chanting the same mantras in different way produces different effects, different vibrations. Many a times a slight difference in spacing, intonation, pronounciation, enunciation produces different meanings. So unless you are classically trained to chant these, one shall avoid it but can read them with sound without making a sound, silently. Ex: Many in north india swap va & ba. Ravindranath tagore becomes rabindranath tagore. Many in north india also swap ra & da

stackexchange: Why do many Hindus eat meat and fish? Eating meat and fish directly violates the principle of Ahimsa

since stackexchange is becoming like reddit and wikipedia where unknown , behind the mask moderators run these sites like dictatorship, I have decided to add answers here. The meaning of ahimsa today unfortunately has been equated to non violence due to the lack of equivalent word in english. Just like atma is not sould, ahimsa is not non violence. It is a state of being. Meta is discouraged and not forbidden in hinduism. Today unfortunately meat has been associated with health and fitness. Let us have a look at the animals in the jungle. Elephant - biggest animal, most powerful animal, heaviest animal Rhino, hippopotamus, wild buffalo - big, powerful, heavy deer - fastest animal giraffe, camel - tallest animal tortoise - lenghty life horse - speed, vigor donkey - most hardworking Many of these vegetarian animals (elephant, rhino, hippopotamus, wild ox, wild bull) can easily defeat any tiger, lion. In fact no lion or tiger ever dare to do a one on one with any of them. You will notice

stackexchange: What does the demon kali staying in gold mean?

since stackexchange is becoming like reddit and wikipedia where unknown , behind the mask moderators run these sites like dictatorship, I have decided to add answers here. I think you are taking it in the wrong direction. Many of hindu texts have sub layered meanings. So the parikshit permits him to stay only in places where there is prostituion gold (riches, display of riches) Alcohol (intoxicants which will affect your moral judgement) Gambling As you might have already figured out from the story, kali is non physical in nature and omnipresent. He can not only be present in many places at once but also many kalpas at once. So for easier understanding, think of him as the biggest influencer of immorality. Wherever these 4 things are there, there is a high chance that, the place and the people in it are immoral, unethical. Here are the same 4 things in islam and how it is restricted. Prostitution is prohibited in Islam. It is considered a form of zina, or adultery, which is a major sin
